Is owning an air fryer worth the investment?
This is a question that many people ask when they start to consider buying one. While the answer may vary depending on your situation, there are plenty of great points about air fryers which you should be aware of before making such an important purchase.
Reason 1: Is an air fryer A good investment?
An air fryer uses hot air, rather than cooking oil to cook food. This reduces the amount of fat and grease used in the cook. It can also help cut the fat from the foods you cook. Air fryers are extremely affordable and energy-efficient. When you cook with an air fryer, you do not need to add oil. This makes them an excellent investment for people who want to reduce the amount of oil that they use in their diet.
Reason 2: Air fryers aren’t that expensive
When it comes to looking for an air fryer, the range you’ll find the prices are between $50 for really cheap air fryers to $300 for higher range machines. Now, the difference between all of these numbers is the build quality and the features.
Most cheaper brands will have fewer features and will be built from a lesser quality. That might even mean that it might not last as long as you would hope. I tend to find the higher three-digit priced air fryers are mostly made of solid metal. They’re much sturdier.
However don’t get me wrong, air fryers are fundamentally simple cooking devices. You may not need all the bells and whistles that come with a more expensive brand. I’ve spoken to several people in my community who own air fryers and a lot of them have told me that their 60 or $80 air fryers have lasted more than two years.
I’d say that this is a success story because once you get an air fryer you’ll soon realize how often you would reach to use it compared to any other device like a microwave or a stove.
Reason 3: Air fryers are simple to use
To understand how easy it is to use an air fryer, you first have to understand how it works. Air fryers are basically like little ovens with heating elements. The only difference here is that the air fryers have fans inside that blow air that travels inside the chamber of the basket circulating hot air throughout. This provides you with a very even cook because the hot is basically cooks your meal all around.
- Once you have your food all chopped, marinated, and seasoned it’s time to simply put them into the air fryer.
- Start by placing your food on a rack and put that rack into the air fryer basket.
- Insert the basket with the prepared food into the air fryer’s body.
- Turn on the air fryer to the right temperature and time.
It’s as simple as that.
Reason 4: Air fryers are very versatile
You can practically cook almost anything in an air fryer. With very few exceptions, air fryers can practically cook in various sorts of ways.
You already know that air fryers can grill, sear, broil, and toast. But did you know that if you make a few adjustments, you can also steam food with an air fryer? There’s a whole community out there of air fryer fans who actually bake with an air fryer.

Cleaning air fryers is a breeze. If you ask anyone who owns an air fryer, their likely tip for you would be to clean your air fryer after each use. Leaving it unclean for a long. Of time can lead to a build-up of residue and grease. This makes it incredibly hard to get off.
Most air fryers come with a non-stick coating which makes it easy to wipe things down. Always make sure that you use a non-abrasive towel when you wipe food off of your air fryer basket and accessories. You don’t want to damage the non-stick coating that comes with your tray and basket.
We have an article here on how exactly to clean your air fryer and what to do in certain urgent situations where it is nearly impossible to clean it.
Reason 7: Using air fryers to cook is healthier
When you cook with an air fryer one thing you’ll probably notice is that the fat will drop to the bottom of the basket. This is an amazing feature for people who are it’s about what they eat and what they put in their mouth. With the food on top of a rack, and hot air circling around the food cooking it, you’ll see that fats and oils will continue to trip to the bottom. You’re saving yourself tons of calories with this approach.
Another health benefit about air fryers is that you don’t have to use cooking oils to get them crispy. When you compare it to an actual deep fryer, you’re pretty much dunking your entire meal into a bucket full of hot oil. A lot of that oil ends up seeping into the food and that’s where you get your flavor and texture. With an air fryer, you don’t have to add any oil at all. The crispiness of the surface comes from the Lost water and drying up of that outer layer.
Reason 8: Air frying produces less harmful compounds
It’s been studied by several organizations to find that air fryers can help decrease the formation of what are known as harmful compounds. These compounds are known as Acrylamide.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified acrylamides as a probable cause of human cancer.
You’re probably wondering where do acrylamides come from and how do they form. The answer to this is that acrylamides come from sugars and amino acids. They are formed when introduced to extremely high temperatures. This is most often prevalent when you’re cooking. Some of the highest temperature cooking processes involved that of deep-frying, roasting, and baking foods.
Air frying often doesn’t require nearly as high of heat temperature as those do.
Reason 9: Air fryers make food taste really good
Have you ever tried food that was air-fried? By getting rid of oil, it is a different sensation in your mouth. There’s the crispy enjoyable layer that you can sink your teeth in. And at the same time, you don’t get this oily aftertaste that comes with almost every deep-fried food out there.
The food from an air fryer tastes more natural. The flavors from the actual meat are more pronounced. Rather than tasting the oil that had made its way into the meets outer layer, you get to enjoy the flavors of the meat itself.
At the same time, air fryers will help keep the insides of the meal nice, warm, and moist.
Making food from an air fryer is like going to a really nice restaurant where the chef is actually proud of what he or she cooks. They use the finest ingredients and cook with the freshest Meats. That’s what it’s like when you eat food that has been air-fried.
Reason 10: Air fryers can save you lots of money in eating out
Think about how much it will cost you if you were to go out to eat every day? Eating out every day can cost you an arm and a leg. But thanks to owning an air fryer, the Simplicity and the speed at which you can cook make it feel like you were already at a restaurant.
I can’t stress how good are fried foods really tight. It’s enough to keep you away from going out to eat often. Why go out and pay for restaurant-quality food, when you can get home cooking healthy and delicious food at home?
It’s a no-brainer if I was given the option to either cook with my air fryer eight out of 10 times.
Reason 11: Air fryers last for a very long time
These machines last an Incredibly long time. It’s especially true if you make sure you properly clean and maintain your fryer. Understanding how to clean your air fryer is very important not only for the longevity of the air fryer but also for the safety of your meal and your food.
Most users we’ve spoken to have said that their lower-end air fryers have lasted them anywhere between 2 to 3 years before and failed them. They were all genuinely satisfied with how long they were able to use it. Some of the higher-end models can last up to four or five years if properly maintained.
Reason 12: Air fryers can save you time cooking
By circulating extremely hot air throughout your food you let the air do all the cooking for you. When you cook with an air fryer you simply have to flip it over once somewhere midway into the cooking process. Rather than standing there and stirring your meal in your pot, you can simply let the hot air do its magic for you.
Trusting in the air fryer to cook will produce a very evenly cooked meal. I’ve almost never had an issue with chicken wings and thighs. If you follow the directions in the manual on how to cook chicken, it will only take less than 30 minutes.
Reason 13: Air fryers can cook frozen foods
Air fryer. There’s no need to thaw it. However, you’re going to need to adjust the time it takes to cook. Some air fryers will also have a defrost or thawing setting where you can press and it will do the work for you.
Reason 14: There are a variety of air fryers to choose from
There are a ton of different air fryers out there at several different price points. You have air fryers that have two baskets that can cook two different things at the same time. Reason 15: You’ll end up replacing all your cooking appliance with just an air fryer
This one’s pretty funny, I keep hearing a lot about how people are replacing almost all of their kitchen appliances with just an air fryer. People have used and invested in their air fryer so much that they practically cook with it almost daily.
They’ve even joked about how they have retired their oven, stove, and maybe even their microwave. With the versatility of how air fryers can handle different types of foods, I’m not really that surprised.
Let me know what you think if you ever get to that point. I would love to hear about it.
