Giving someone an air fryer may perhaps be the perfect gift when it comes to saving time and convenience. Air fryers can be an all-in-one cooking device that provides a healthy, quick, and delicious meal for the entire family. An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that cooks food in an enclosed space with circulating hot air. You don’t need to add cooking oils. You don’t need to sit there and constantly stir. It can be used to cook many types of food, including vegetables, meat, and fish.

You can bake with an air fryer
Baking in an air fryer is typically not what you hear often. But the funny fact is that there are ways to make this work. There is one caveat though. Air fryers just aren’t that big, and sometimes you’re going to have to adjust the amount you make.
You can bake things like cookies. Simply start by coating your basket with cooking spray or butter. This will prevent the cookies from sticking to the sides of your basket. You can also line the basket with foil or parchment paper.
You’re going to have to make some adjustments to the normal oven baking recipes. This includes changing the cooking time and the temperature of your baking.

Your food will taste amazing when cooked in an air fryer
If you’ve never tried food with an air fryer, you don’t know what you’re missing out on. Cooking food in an air fryer is amazing.
What comes out of an air fryer; the texture, the flavor, and the moisture is just incredible. Making food in an air fryer is almost foolproof.
In fact, if you ask most people who own air fryers, most of them will say that they can’t believe they had ever gone without one. Are fires are becoming more and more popular because of the ease of use and how amazingly good the food turns out even for amateur cooks.
You can choose to use oil or not with an air fryer
The amazing thing about an air fryer is that you don’t really need to use cooking oil. This doesn’t mean you can’t use cooking oil at all. There’s just no need because of the way air fryers work.
This indirectly makes the food you’re cooking a bit healthier than if you were to add a ton of oil to it.
It’s kind of interesting here because on one side, using oil often gives the food a type of flavor that we’re used to. It also provides a crispy texture that we all know and love. However, surprisingly enough, most people won’t miss flavors of oil and the crispiness of your meal won’t go away.
The hot air that surrounds your meal will heat up the outer layer of your food. This mimics the texture of deep-frying, where the moisture of the food leaves the surface and the outer layer and hardens up.
The crunch that you get from that bite will be nearly identical to deep-frying.
Cooking with an air fryer is healthier
Now there’s been a lot of debate when it comes to whether cooking in an air fryer is healthier than the alternative. I’m going to take the side of it being healthier. For many obvious reasons, you just don’t get the amount of oil in your food when compared to the traditional methods of cooking which include deep-frying or stir-frying.
Another thing about this is that when you’re cooking in an air fryer, the fat on that protein we’ll tend to drip downwards off the meat. This is because within the air fryer you’re going to cook it on a rack. All you have to do is let the fan do the work for you by circulating that hot air around the food.
When your meal is done cooking, you oftentimes see a puddle of fat at the base of the basket. This is the fat you would have eaten if you were to either deep-fry it or stir fry it on a pan.
Cooking with an air fryer is easy
Air fryers don’t take a lot of training to use. You need very little practice to actually fire one up. It’s also very difficult to mess up a meal when you don’t know what you’re doing.
It almost feels like air fryers will cook things automatically for you so that you don’t have to worry about stirring and moving the food around so that the flames get to every part of your food.
Air fryers have these chambers they keep are inside while it heats up the food. The fan cleverly circulates the superheated air, and this creates incredibly even cooking. The most you’ll need to do is perhaps take out the basket halfway through the cooking process and flip whatever meal you have over onto its opposite side.
When you’re cooking a steak, for example, you can simply put a steak on one side for about 6 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and then flip it for another 6 minutes on the other side, and then you’re done. You’ll have a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak.
If you want to cook chicken wings, you simply have to put them into the air fryer for about 12 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit. Then flip it over for another 12 minutes, and you will have the crispiest, well-cooked chicken wings you’ve ever had. And all this, without oil.
Air fryers usually come with a manual on how to cook nearly every possible protein or vegetable you could come up with. Stick this chart on your refrigerator and you will never have an issue wondering how to cook something in an air fryer again.
Cooking with an air fryer is fast
Air frying isn’t the fastest way to cook oh, but it is fast nonetheless. Did you notice in the previous section that it takes only 12 minutes to cook a perfect steak in an air fryer? How about how I mentioned that it only takes 24 minutes to get perfectly cooked inside and out, crispy chicken wings?
What you probably didn’t know oh, is that you can also cook frozen foods straight into the air fryer without defrosting or thawing them. And it only takes an extra few minutes. What I recommend here is to check more often if you were to cook frozen foods and leftovers.
Using an air fryer is almost certainly faster than cooking in a traditional stove oven. In fact, there’s a rule of thumb that you can use the same temperature as you would in an oven but you would have to cut the cooking time in half if you wanted to use an air fryer. So instead of 20 minutes, you should leave it in there for approximately 10 minutes.
Air fryers last a really long time
Ask anybody who owns an air fryer and most of them will tell you that they’ve had the same air fryer for more than two to four years. These are fires last a really long time. They don’t break easily because there is not a lot of moving parts. The only thing that’s really moving is the fan.
In most cases, the fan is easily replaceable. These are very simple devices that have the main component that comprises the heating element and a fan.
Now, there are some manufacturers and companies that will actually sell you these components so that you can easily fix them yourselves. But this brings me to another point that I want to talk about.
Air fryers are not that expensive
Because of the insane longevity of the typical air fryer and how very rare it is to find an air fryer that doesn’t last more than a year-and-a-half, you would think that these things would be worth more than they sound. Well, you couldn’t be further from the truth. A lot of air fryers can range anywhere from $60 all the way up to $300 for a typical household machine.
Now, I’ve asked nearly a hundred people who own air fryers and there’s really been no major longevity difference between a cheaper Air fryer versus a more expensive air fryer.
If these things were to break down by the second year then oh, I think you would have made your money’s worth. I get tons of people who say that air fryers have replaced almost every single cooking device in their kitchen. These people are the same people who use air fryers at least two to three times a week. They even “retired” their oven and stove because of this.
And on average, for $120? It’s a steal.
Cleaning up an air fryer is easy
There’s not much to clean when it comes to using an air fryer. You have the basket and all the little accessories basket that needs cleaning. We’re not talking about multiple pots and pans. A lot of these items are also dishwasher safe.
However, I do want to stress how important it is to clean your air fryer after every use. That means you should wipe down the inside chamber with a damp cloth every time you’ve used it. You need to wash the baskets and the accessories that touch the food each time you cooked with it.
You don’t necessarily have to do a deep cleaning every day. But you should do it once every few weeks. The problem here is that if you don’t clean it often or occasionally, grease and food could build up within the components and damage your air fryer. It could lead to a lesser lifespan of the device.
Owning an air fryer is totally worth it
Giving someone an air fryer as a gift is absolutely great. This is especially useful if that person lives a very busy lifestyle but at the same time would prefer to cook a nice home-style meal once in a while.
With an air fryer, that person will be able to make these Homestyle meals anytime he or she wants without the necessary mess or the standard sink full of pots and pans to clean.
