Here’s a list of what you can fit into the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven
Here’s a list of what you can fit into the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven:
- Sausages, burgers, and fish fillets up to 6.5 cm thick (3”)
- Chicken drumsticks, thighs, and wings of any size
- Fish fillets from 2 to 4 cm thick (1-1.5”)
- Breaded chicken pieces, such as nuggets or fingers
1 whole chicken
You can cook a whole chicken in this smart dual heat air fryer oven.
You just need to know how long it will take and what size chicken you want to cook.
The cooking time depends on the size of your bird, as well as its internal temperature when it’s done.
For example, cooking a whole 4-pound chicken would take about 55 to 75 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
It’s recommended by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) that you make sure the internal temperature of your chicken is at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 3 minutes.
4 6-ounce steaks
On to the good stuff, the steaks. Really, you can add any type of steaks you want, but I highly recommend steaks no larger than one-and-a-half-inch cuts.
The tray is large enough to fit four 6-ounce steaks on. When using the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven, you’ll want to preheat the SearPlate to at least 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
The SearPlate will allow you to create that crispy sear that you would normally only be able to achieve on a firey grill.
We like to do it at home with our steaks first is to run it through the Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Oven (or regular oven) at 125 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes to reach a rare to medium-rare cook with an internal temperature of 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
Then we turn the Ninja Foodi Air Fryer to Air Crisp mode and crank up the dial to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and place our steaks on to get that perfect sear.
The USDA recommends that you cook steaks at a temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 3 minutes. If you want them to be done more quickly, it’s best to cook them at a lower temperature and longer time period.
9 burger patties
As for burger patties, whether you are cooking them fresh or frozen oh, I would highly recommend cooking your patties at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 to 12 minutes if you plan to put only four large 1-inch thick burger patties on the plate.
If you are adding 9 smaller burger patties, you probably need to increase the amount of cooking time to 14 or 16 minutes depending on the thickness of the patties.
My suggestion here is that you closely monitor your burger patties while you cook them in your Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Oven. These things easily overcook if you’re not paying attention.
1 pound of French fries
The capacity of the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven is a whopping 4 pounds. However, you don’t want to stuff all your fries in one basket.
Air frying works best when the circulated air is allowed to move in between food. Fortunately, 1 pound of French fries is considered pretty hefty and this means that you can make enough fries to feed your entire family and still have some leftovers for yourself.
You may be wondering what exactly 1 pound of French fries looks like, but luckily for you, I happened to go out and buy a some McDonald’s the other day.
One pound of French fries is equivalent to about 3 large orders of McDonald’s french fries!
I would recommend limiting the number of french fries you cook in your Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Oven to 1 or 1.5 pounds because any more than that could limit the hot air from cooking the french fries throughout evenly.
9 slices of toast
You can fit nine regular slices of toast in a Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven at the same time.
Ninja Foodi has specifically designed their air fryers with 9-slice capability in mind.
The baskets are designed to fit a variety of different slices of bread and snacks, including English muffins and bagels!
2 full-sized racks of ribs
Ribs are a popular food to cook in the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven.
It can fit the two full-sized racks of ribs stretched across be wire tray. Now I know that there are different sizes of ribs out there but you’re probably looking for the more medium-sized ones that are around a total of about no more than two pounds each.
Just cook you will burn a rack of ribs in your air fryer at 375° Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes on bake or roast mode. You should also flip your racks over halfway in the cooking process.
Don’t forget to add your seasoning and marinade. Repeatedly brush any sauce over your ribs to create that glaze.
They’re a great option for a party because you can feed more people and make it easier on yourself by cooking them at once.
If you’ve got a busy schedule, ribs are also an excellent choice for an easy family dinner or casual dinner with friends.
12 regular-size cookies
You might also want to know is that the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven can hold up to a total of 12 regular-size cookies, or six muffins.
You’ll need to adjust the cooking time depending on which item you’re making, and how thick your cookies or muffins are.
But one thing is for certain, you’ll want to put your air fryer in baked mode. This will limit the fan activity and help keep the moisture in for as long as possible. This will also limit the hot air from burning the outsides of your cookies too soon.
I also didn’t find that it mattered what type of cookie you are baking in your Ninja air fryer. Whether it be snickerdoodles, chocolate chips, or even plain sugar cookies, the cooking process was virtually the same.
If you’re making a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies, it will take about 9 minutes for them to cook in the Ninja oven.
But if they’re especially thick (like mine), it could take closer to 11 minutes.
I always recommend first leaving your cookie batter in the refrigerator so that it could stay cold for at least 30 minutes. then you can place your cookie dough in circular shapes on the air fryer tray and cook for about 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 to 13 minutes.
Always be sure to keep an eye on your cookies at the eight-minute mark. I’ve always found that sometimes, the cookies will be done a little sooner than later depending on the consistency of the brand or how you make it.
12 chicken wings
The Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven can fit up to 12 chicken wings inside it, at the same time. Now, never tried it. Yeah, this is going to look like a tight fit but hopefully, you don’t have any monster-sized chicken wings.
I would say that if you can go to the store, and you buy a case of about 2 to 3lb worth of chicken, all fit on your air fryer tray.
It’s important to keep in mind, however, that it’s best to avoid letting the wings touch each other too much. You want the air to move around the bodies of the Wings so that it can evenly cook it inside and out.
This is a great option if you’re cooking for a big party or if you simply prefer to cook multiple dishes in one oven!
To ensure that your wings are cooked through and juicy on the inside, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit with nothing in it before placing the wings inside.
It’s recommended that you cook your chicken wings at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 24 to 28 minutes. Be sure to flip them over halfway through the cooking process.
Similar to the way you cook a whole chicken, the USDA recommends that you make sure the internal temperature of your chicken wings is 165 degrees Fahrenheit or at least three minutes.
This way, they will get nice and crispy without burning. When finished cooking, toss them with some sauce or dip of your choice.
4 chicken breasts
The Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven is an ideal choice for cooking chicken breasts.
The oven’s square design lets you arrange up to six of them at once on the tray, which means that a whole meal can be ready in just 25 to 35 minutes.
So how exactly do you go about cooking chicken breasts in an air fryer?
First, preheat your air fryer tray to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Then season your chicken to your liking before placing it into the heated tray.
You should cook each side of each breast for 12 to 15 minutes so that they’re golden brown on both sides and fully cooked through.
The rules of the USDA apply here as well for chicken. Keep the internal temperature within 165 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 3 minutes.
This will ensure juicy, flavorful meat without any dryness or toughness just make sure not to overcook!
2-pound roast beef
You can fit 2-pound roast beef in the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven.
The meat will come out juicy and tender, with crispy edges. That’s a win-win if you’re looking for a dinner that satisfies both your kid and your adult palates.
You’ll need to start off by preheating your air fryer oven to 390 degrees Fahrenheit and then bringing it down to 360 degrees Fahrenheit.
The rule of thumb here is For every pound of roast beef, you should add an extra 15 minutes to your timer.
You also need to take into account how thick your roast beef is. You might want to add a few extra minutes if it’s extra thick.
Overall, if you are cooking a 2lb roast beef in your Ninja Foodi air fryer oven, I would recommend cooking it for about 30 to 35 minutes.
If you’re making roast beef sandwiches to feed the family, cook one more than you need so you can have leftovers for lunch.
You’ll have all the fixings, roast beef, mustard sauce (which is just mustard mixed with mayo), and cheddar cheese slices!
2 thick cut pork chops
You can fit 2 large pork chops in the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven.
You cook them at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 to 17 minutes.
Here, I recommend that you use the Ninja Foodi SearPlate to help you cook your pork evenly from top to bottom.
The USDA recommends that you keep the internal temperature of pork within 145 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 3 minutes.
20 pieces of chicken nuggets
If you’re looking to make a large batch of chicken nuggets, the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven can help.
It can fit up to 20 pieces at a time and offers three cooking modes that are perfect for it: baking, roasting, and air frying. You can choose whichever you like.
The recommended cooking time for this number of nuggets is 11 to 13 minutes at 390 degrees Fahrenheit in the air fryer mode.
This will give them enough time to cook through but still leave them with a crispy coating outside.
The oven takes less than a minute to heat up before you can put any food inside it so keep this in mind if your dinner plans are tight on time!
1 medium to large pizza (13-inch diameter max)
Any pizza lover knows that a large pizza is the ultimate dinner food.
For this reason, the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven can cook a large pizza and I highly recommend that you use the SearPlate with Dual Heat action to create a crispy bottom dough.
Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, then placing your pizza in and letting it cook for 12 minutes.
If you are making your own pizza from scratch and you want the crust to be extra crispy, you can start off preheating your air fryer oven with your flattened-out pizza dough.
Then when it’s done preheating, you can then place all the ingredients on top and cook it further at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 more minutes.
Can you cook more than one tray in the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven?
You can cook more than one tray in the Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven.
This makes it a great appliance for cooking for a crowd, especially if you want to make different types of food at the same time.
You can cook two trays at the same time, perfect for when you want to make chicken wings and fries or if you’re cooking something else like meatballs or fish balls.
You just have to take into account which types of food can be on top and which types of food can go below.
You could also use it to cook small pizzas that are thin and crispy but still soft inside.
So, what can you cook in your Ninja Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven?
The answer is pretty much anything! You can cook up to 4 pounds of food at a time.
There’s even room for two trays!
